Join the Lip-Synch Contest
Immediately following the 'run' up Katlian Street – about 11:30am.
Lip-synching means moving the lips in synchronization with the lyrics of a song. You don't have to actually sing – you just pretend. Mouthing the words of your favorite singer, with the song playing over the sound system.
The contest is open to individuals or groups who just want to have fun and show off their stuff. The only requirement is that contestants must be wearing rubber boots of some sort (on their feet). Otherwise, the zanier the costumes and act, the better.
Judging criteria include:
- Creativity and choreography
- Costumes and props
- Lip-synch ability
- Audience response
Contestants need to come with a prepared routine and their own music on CD or tape. Marco Hernandez, of MP 4th Productions, will provide the sound system to accompany the acts.
Pre-registration is encouraged, by calling Sheila or Amy at 966-3066, or stopping by Sitka Works at 212 Lake Street.
Please let us know:
- The name of the song
- Contestants name(s)
- What type of recording you have
Anyone interested in offering food or beverages during the event, or with questions, please call run coordinator, Sheila Finkenbinder, at 966-3066 or 966-2296 or email her at firstname.lastname@example.org .
All proceeds from the event will go to the Sitka Works.
